JOHNNY STARTED AS A SHOE SALESMAN
When Johnny Dangerfield was a teenager, he left his home in Hanahan, SC to manage a shoe store in California. But because of his love for the Lowcountry, Johnny headed back east and returned to Charleston.
Between 1981 and 1984 Johnny worked for numerous local dealerships, always ranking as one of the top local sales people. During this time, it was Johnny's natural way with customers, patience to work with their individual situations and commitment to customer satisfaction that made Johnny so successful.
In late 1984 he moved into sales management, teaching his philosophy of turning customer satifaction into a loyal customer base. By 1992 Johnny had been in sales, management or dealership management locally for most of the major auto manufactures including Honda, Chevrolet, Toyota, Ford, Saturn, GMC, Buick, and Pontiac.
But in 1995 Johnny decided his passion for customer satisfaction outweighed all of his previous success and this became his mantra. He sold his modest home and moved his wife and 2 small childern into a tiny cottage in Bonneau and put his life savings into his new venture, selling used cars and trucks in an untapped area of Moncks Corner, 35 miles from Charleston.
When Johnny opened in March 1995, he had 10 cars, 1 truck, a mobile home for an office and 1 employee, Johnny.
Over the years Johnny Dangerfield has expanded his operation from just used cars, trucks, and SUV's to 5 new car dealerships including Suzuki, Isuzu, Subaru, located in Moncks Corner, Summerville, West Ashley, and Easley, SC. Despite his trememdous growth he still credits his passion for customer satisfaction as the driving force for his success.
